RECIPE: Spicy Salmon Bites
This simple, 6-ingredient recipe packs a healthy punch of flavor and zest! Wild-caught salmon is full of essential omega-3 fats, while ginger and garlic have powerful phytonutrients that support your immune system and cardiovascular system.
Ingredients
2 lbs wild-caught salmon, cut into 1½” cubes (use SHARP knife & leave skin on for cooking)
8.5 oz bottle of Primal Kitchen No Soy Teriyaki marinade
1 medium organic jalapeno, seeds removed and finely chopped
1 Tbsp chili oil with pepper flakes
1 Tbsp organic ginger, chopped
3 Tbsp organic garlic, chopped
Sesame seeds & finely chopped chives for final garnishing (optional)
Hot honey drizzle (optional)
Directions
Marinade: Place cubed salmon in a lidded container or Ziploc bag. Fill with teriyaki marinade (keep approx 2 oz of marinade for finishing), making sure everything is covered. Set aside in refrigerator overnight.
Bake: Place marinated salmon skin side down on tinfoil-lined sheet pan for baking. Convection bake at 400°F for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to not overcook. Remove from pan leaving skin on tinfoil.
Pour: Pour remaining marinade (and anything from container/bag) into a skillet. Add chili oil, toss in ginger and garlic and cook until marinade has slightly reduced. Place skinless salmon bites into pan. Remembering the salmon will be tender, very gently toss salmon in reduced marinade to coat.
Serve: Place salmon on serving platter and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chives. Drizzle with hot honey if you dare! Serve these flavor-packed bites with toothpick skewers for easy handling, and watch everybody’s expression as they take their first bite!
Tips
Top with sesame seeds for extra texture and beneficial fiber — and a gourmet look!
We recommend marinating salmon overnight to maximize the deliciousness.
