5 Wellness Tips For Fall

Be Well Tips For Fall.png

This month marks the beginning of a new season: F A L L 🍂 and new seasons are the perfect time to implement new habits for a healthier, happier YOU! These simple changes to your routine will make a world of difference in productivity and overall wellness!

  1. Lemon Water in the Morning

Drinking water in the morning after a full night’s sleep is the perfect way to jump start your day with hydration! Think about it: for the 8 or so hours you’re sleeping, your body is slowly losing moisture, meaning that your body is already dehydrated when you wake up in the morning.

That’s why drinking a full glass of water in the A.M. will help get your system flowing and bring water back to where your body needs it most.

Adding lemon to the mix can help boost your immune system, aid in digestion, help with weight loss, and more. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon to a 20 oz glass of water before you leave for work in the morning, and your day will already be off to a great start!

2. Switch to healthy coffee / tea

Our favorite healthy coffee and tea is Organo. Organo’s products contain organic Ganoderma, one of the world’s most researched and beneficial herbs!

Proven benefits include:

  • Improves immune function

  • Is anti-viral and anti-bacterial

  • Decreases inflammation

  • Supports calming and improves focus

  • Improves blood sugar and blood pressure

  • Enhances kidney and liver function

  • Encourages deeper sleep

3. Get your vitamin routine down

It’s essential to take vitamin supplements to ensure you’re getting everything you need to live your healthiest life. As much as we love trying to get vitamins straight from our food, there are some essentials—like Vitamin D and omega 3 fatty acids—that you won’t be able to get from a healthy diet alone. (Vitamin D is almost impossible to get from just a healthy diet).

The Lake Pointe 6 is the top vitamins and supplements we recommend to each person to take regularly for a healthy, vibrant life! Click here for our full list of immune boosting vitamins for fall!

Multivitamin â€“ A multivitamin is essential to get your daily vitamins and nutrients.
Omega 3 â€“ Taking a fish oil is crucial to brain health. Important fact: our body cannot make these on our own, we can only get it through diet or supplementation.
Probiotics â€“ Good health usually stems from a healthy gut! Probiotics help to support a healthy gut and digestive system!
Plant Nutrients â€“ The FDA recommends 13 servings of fruits and veggies per day. An easy way we get our servings in is through Dynamic Fruits and Greens powder which has 20+ servings of fruits and veggies in each scoop! And it tastes delicious!
Vitamin D â€“ Vitamin D is essential for bone health, immune systems and energy levels!
Ganoderma â€“ #1 superfood you can make part of your daily habit! We sell Ganoderma in capsule form, coffee, tea and protein shakes!

We also recommend all of our patients try a Medpax, which is a super convenient way to get a personalized vitamin regimen. Your Lake Pointe practitioner can design your vitamin regimen and have it delivered to you in monthly boxes that feature easy-to-use, tear-off pouches filled with your vitamin dose for that day.

Medpax are extremely effective and useful for those of you with busy schedules, so make sure to let us know you’re interested, and we can set up an appointment to get your customized vitamins through Medpax put together! You can schedule a 15 min. consult to get started with one here.

4. Turn off electronics 2-3 hours before bed!

Most of our electronics emit blue light, which can make falling asleep and getting good rest really tough. That's because too much blue light before bed can trick your brain into thinking it's daytime, hence why it can be difficult to fall asleep after an evening of looking at your phone. â €
â €
The good news—most newer phones, tablets, and computers have a blue light filter you can turn that will automatically switch in when the sun goes down. Check to see if yours is switched on now, or Google your phone make plus 'blue light filter' to see how to turn it on for your device.

Better yet? Just turn them off! Make it a habit to put away your electronics 2-3 hours before bed and focus on a night time wellness routine. Have a cup of tea, read a book, meditate or journal about your day! Your body and your brain will thank you for it!

5. Commit to #selfcaresunday - One day per week devoted to your wellness!

This year has shown more than ever how important personal health is. Yes, you should keep your body nourished and your immune system boosted, but what’s more than that is that it’s important to keep your mind and spirit healthy too! We’re living in incredibly stressful times right now and with the kids going back to school, cold and flu season at our door, and an election year to boot, it’s easy to get caught in a downward spiral of stress and gloom. We’ve recently started highlighting #selfcaresunday on our social media where we share personal things the staff at Lake Pointe do to keep their mind, body and spirit healthy! We urge you to find time each week to devote to your wellness whether it be by meditating, doing yoga, painting, cooking, having a mini spa night or going on a walk with your dog, whatever it is that fills you up and brings you peace, we hope that you will commit to making time for yourself and your wellness!

Happy Fall everyone!
