Wendy Brom
C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, Somatic Educator, Ayurveda Yoga Specialist
Wendy Brom is a leader in the field of SomaYoga Therapy. A progressive modality that blends the neuromuscular re-education of Somatics and Yoga Therapy. Wendy works with you as a coach in this mind/bodywork that releases years of stress, trauma, chronic tension & pain held in the physical body.
While Wendy was finishing her undergraduate requirements to apply to Graduate School for Occupational Therapy, she discovered the efficient & effective results of Somatic Education because of her own chronic pain issues. She had tried acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, & massage with only short term results. As she began to regain voluntary control over her own body and relieve chronic tension she was able to recognize the physical, mental, emotional, and energetic patterns that contributed to her pain. The role of Yoga Therapy gave her the tools to change these patterns as well. Wendy decided that more people needed this kind of healing and decided to teach people SomaYoga Therapy instead of Occupational Therapy. Wendy recognizes how our culture and conditioning can create unhealthy patterns and supports her clients in creating a lifestyle that will help them continue to move free, feel free, and live free.
Wendy graduated from Augsburg College in 2001, continued her studies in Psychology, Anatomy & Physiology at St. Catherine’s University in 2011-2012, graduated from The Yoga Center of Minneapolis Teacher Training program in 2011, Mind Body Solutions Adaptive Yoga Teacher Training in 2011-2012, Himalayan Institute’s Ayurveda Yoga Specialist program in 2015, Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute’s Yoga Therapy program in 2016. She has continued education in Somatic Education, Breath Work, & Energy Healing.
Wendy enjoys growing vegetables and cooking with her husband and two sons. She believes that working with the cycles of nature reconnects us to our own innate wisdom and intuition. She is also an avid student of astrology.
