Heart Health

It is true, According to Harvard Medical School, “High levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or "bad" cholesterol, have long been associated with a greater risk of heart disease. Yet, research has shown that about 75% of heart attack sufferers do not have dangerously high LDL levels.” Full article here.

So what can we do about this? In addition to a healthy diet & lifestyle, testing a few more markers would be a great plan for assessing your heart health. For example, have you heard of Apolipoprotein B? This is a major player in the atherosclerosis process. It is considered a stronger predictor than the ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol.

Lipoprotein (a) is a similar predictor of heart health. Often called Lp(a) for short, this protein encourages inflammation and is associated with increased risk of blood clotting. This would raise your risk of heart attack & stroke.

Nutrients such as Niacin and ganoderma are known to reduce and protect against these challenges mentioned.
