Better Tests, Best Results

Why is our food sensitivity test better?

At Lake Pointe, we use Food Inflammatory Tests by KBMO Diagnostics (also called “FIT tests”). Compared to other food sensitivity tests, our FIT tests have two major differences that set them apart from the rest:

Patented testing

FIT tests’ patented multi-pathway testing process provides patients with the most precise testing available. In a nutshell, this eliminates any false positives, ensuring your results are as accurate as possible.

Gut barrier markers

When you test with us at Lake Pointe, we provide tests that also evaluate the integrity of your gut barrier with eight specific markers providing you with comprehensive steps to healing your gut and peripheral tissues as well.

Sounding the alarm

If your blood sample tests positive for IgG antibodies, it is a sign you have a moderate inflammatory response. These IgG antibodies can also put ‘tags’ on items like certain foods, letting your defense system know what they should be targeting. The tags allow us to tell very specifically which foods could be causing problems.

Think of this tagging process as an alarm: when there’s nothing to worry about, the alarm is quiet (when using a single pathway test, these tagged reactions may result in false positives). But the more concern there is, the louder the alarm — your body requires additional help and is calling for back up. These reinforcements are called the complement system. Like a SWAT team, the complement system protects your whole body, not just the gut.

When both IgG and the complement system are present in your blood sample, we know the body’s reaction is a loud one. team up and alert your body to something wrong by sounding the alarm, leading to symptoms like bloating, discomfort, and other gut issues. These may result in inflammation:

  1. locally, in the gut with the IgG response

  2. throughout the body, as a result of the activated complement system

Chronic inflammation can also lead to trouble in other parts of your body, like headache, behavioral changes, brain fog, or even rash/skin irritation.

The gut barrier’s eight markers

Below are the eight markers specific to gut barrier integrity with links to each of them.

IgG 1-4 & C3d

Candida

Zonulin

Occludin

LPS

If you’ve been working on healing without the success you would expect, our FIT test may be your missing link.

Call today to schedule a complimentary consult with one of our doctors to see if the Food Inflammation Test would be a good addition to your wellness journey!
