“I came to Wendy this fall for a super sore SI joint. My pain was so debilitating that I could barely get in and out of a car without wincing and bracing myself. Being fit and a yoga instructor myself, I was at a loss. I tried yoga, strength training and chiropractic care. While all of those things helped me, they seemed to act as a bandaid. The pain still returned. During one of my chiropractic adjustments with my amazing Chiropractor, Dr. Rebecca, she advised me to check out SomaYoga with Wendy. I mentioned my goal was to permanently fix my problem. I made an appointment that day. After just 6 sessions, I am completely 100% better. I have a new, deeper understanding of my body. Wendy helped me to guide my body back to a pain free state. It’s been 4 months since I had this pain and it has not returned. I feel confident though if it were to return that I would use the tools Wendy taught me. SomaYoga is fascinating and incredibly helpful. Thank you Wendy!!!” -Catherine
“Wendy has a beautiful way of teaching SomaYoga. She is passionate and grounded in the teaching of this special type of yoga. I have had the privilege of attending Wendy’s weekly class as well as two of her Saturday workshops. After only one or two classes, I started to notice a remarkable change in my own body awareness and my ability to feel less pain. After about 5 or 6 classes, I have noticed a big difference in my ability to feel like I have control over my own muscles, and I am really feeling that I have a better handle on the back and rib pain that I have had for many years. I truly believe that this was the missing link for me. Wendy’s teaching of SomaYoga has helped me integrate everything I have learned from years of physical therapy into a yoga practice that helps me to feel that I am able to heal myself from within. Thank you for sharing this incredible gift with me, Wendy. It has been a life changing experience and I truly hope more people are able to benefit from SomaYoga.” -A very satisfied SomaYogi
“In July 2017, I severely broke and dislocated my right femur in a traumatic accident. After surgery, followed by months of recovery and rehab, the one was healed but I was experiencing ongoing pain, lack of mobility, and general disconnection from my legs and hips. The most important result of my SomaYoga sessions with Wendy is the reconnection to my body, particularly in the areas of my legs and hips. Wendy guided me in learning how to regain control over these disconnected areas. It is important to note that I felt better too. After months of hard work to strengthen my muscles, I was still in a lot of pain. The SomaYoga sessions with Wendy helped my leg and hip feel so much better. It was an amazing example of how deeply the brain and body are connected. The feeling of regaining control over my own body was exhilarating and sometimes emotional. I now have daily tools to stay connected and relieve tension and pain. I use the techniques while driving, in meetings, and before bed. I strongly recommend SomaYoga sessions with Wendy for anyone who is experiencing pain or has experienced trauma. From the first session, it was clear to me that Wendy understood that trauma wasn’t something that could easily be fixed, but rather would take time and care to reconnect with my body. I wouldn’t have known just how powerful movement and connection to my body was to my mental health without Wendy’s expertise and care. I feel so much more grounded as a result of my sessions with Wendy.” -Matt
